Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 October 2026

These terms apply when you use the House of Ember store and when you buy from us. Please read them before you order.

1. About us

House of Ember is an online homeware store based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at houseofember.help@gmail.com.

2. Using this site

You must be at least 18 to place an order. Please make sure the details you give us are accurate.

3. Our products

We take care to describe and show our products accurately. Colours can look slightly different on different screens, and sizes and measurements are approximate. Product images may show styling items that are not included; the description lists what you will receive.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling or, where offered, in your local currency, and include any UK taxes that apply. Delivery charges are shown at checkout. For orders delivered outside the United Kingdom, import duties and taxes may be charged when your parcel arrives; these are not included in our prices. Payment is taken when you place your order. If we discover an obvious pricing mistake, we will contact you and you can choose to continue at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

5. Your order

When you place an order you will receive an email confirming we have received it. Our contract with you is formed when we email you to say your order has been dispatched. We may decline an order, for example if an item is unavailable or there has been a mistake in its price or description. If we do, we will tell you and refund anything you have paid.

6. Delivery

Delivery times and charges are set out on our delivery information page. Delivery dates are estimates. If your order has not arrived within 30 days of the date you placed it, you can ask for a replacement or a full refund.

7. Cancellations and returns

You have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, UK customers have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Our refund policy explains how returns and refunds work.

8. Our responsibility to you

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breach of your legal rights as a consumer. We supply products for domestic and private use only and are not responsible for business losses.

9. Our content

The text, images and design of this site belong to House of Ember or are used with permission. Please do not copy or reuse them without asking us first.

10. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. If such an event significantly delays your order, we will tell you, and you can cancel for a full refund.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are those in place when you placed it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live outside the United Kingdom, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws in your country.
